Speed of Play
Pick up the pace
This is probably one of the biggest rules of ediquette that is broken on a regular basis. If it takes 5 hours to play a
round of golf, things are moving too slowly. A foursome should be able to finish a round in 4 hours or less.
What does this mean? When having a bad hole you should pick up your ball and move on to the next hole. Especially if there
is nobody on the next tee box. Always be aware of the group ahead of you. If your not keeping up with them you are playing
too slowly.
Speed of play is probably the number one complaint I hear from golfers. I know I don't like it when I have to sit around
on a tee box waiting for the group ahead of me to move on. It takes away from your tempo and consentration.
It all comes down to your consideration of others. Do not hesitate to pick up after double bogey when your play is holding
others up.
